Did you know you can increase your sense of confidence by standing in the “wonder woman” pose for 60 seconds? Yes, really! Small sensory details can improve our mindset so much.
That’s why I’m sharing essential oils. Your home and clothes can smell calm and soothing. Also, essential oils are a confidence booster… no more harsh chemicals around you, your pets and/or kids!
BIG thank you to Melissa for allowing us to share this content with our tribe! #goodgirlcollective #feelGOOD
I interviewed Melissa a little over a year ago and had some many amazing aha-moments! One of the big ones was her talking about how cleaning and organizing our homes makes a huge difference in other areas of our lives. Think about that. Think about how great you feel when your home is clean and organized (or how bad you feel when it’s not). When my house is clean I feel like I can do anything but, it’s not always easy. That’s why I love Melissa and the brand that she’s created, because she provides practical information to get our homes all-the-way-together (and as we know also, our lives)!
Her website is AMAZING! Go check it out! (You can thank me later 🙂 . And if you’re not following her on Instagram you’re missing out. (she has the cutest family-I’m in love-Lol)!
Thank you again, Melissa for sharing your content with our tribe!

Chemicals and toxins are EVERYWHERE… in our homes, on our food, and in our clothes. I still want my house to be clean and my headaches to go away, but can we please pause the nasty fillers and poisons?!
Essential oils are the miracle solution for every health and home fix you can think of, and after all my essential oil research binges I’m pleased to say my home smells like paraben-free lavender fields!
1. Eliminate Gym Bag Stink
If you have stinky shoes and gym clothes, don’t be embarrassed. Be proud, girl! You’ve put in your work and there’s no reason to get rid of your swanky Adidas bag.
Take a couple of cotton balls and your favorite essential oil (or a mix of your favorites) and dash about 10 to 15 drops on each cotton ball. Then, place them in your shoes, boxing gloves, pockets and yoga mat rolls. Then leave them overnight. When you take the cotton balls out in the morning, your workout gear will smell like fresh essential oils… and nothing else!
2. Insect Repellent
No one likes bug bites, end of story. Get yourself a cloth or a bandana (something you don’t care about) and put up to 10 drops of one of the following, or a combination, of these essential oils: tea tree, lemon, lavender or peppermint. By wearing the cloth or bandana you’ll repel those annoying bugs for good! So, the next time you’re camping, hiking or just sitting out on your patio, tie it make yourself a DIY insect repellent and just watch the bugs buzz off.
3. DIY Poo Pourri Spray!
One of the things that unites us as a human race is that we all go in the bathroom – and while it’s not always the most pleasant experience, there’s a solution for making it smell a little bit better.
Check out my video on making this DIY Poo Pourri spray, it involves essential oils and they are crucial to making the spray work.
4. Car Air Freshener
If you want to take the wonders of essential oils with you on the road there’s an easy way to bring them into your car. All you need is a raw wood clothespin; that means no varnish and no paint. Take your favorite essential oil, or essential oil blend, and place a few drops on your clothespin – just two or three drops will do, you don’t want the scent to be overwhelming. Clip the pin on to one of your air vents and crank the A/C! The next thing you know, you’ll be driving, listening to great music, and smelling your favorite essential oil.
5. Nail Strengthener
If you find that your nails are brittle, weak and you can never quite grow them, essential oils might be able to help. Tea tree and lavender oil are both strengtheners, so you can use one of them, or a combination of the two.
On a clean nail bed, simply drop one drop of your preferred essential oils onto your cuticle and rub it in gently, working the oil up your nail. Make sure to place the drop on your cuticle to help stimulate future nail growth. This will of course take time, you don’t just sprout nails overnight, but you’ll start to see stronger healthier nails, all thanks to your favorite essential oil.
With essential oils come one small caveat. You need to check with your health care provider or your vet, if you’re a pet parent, to make sure that they are safe for you. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, if you have a certain illness or you are on a certain medication, they might not be best for you. Just make sure that you check it out before you start getting heavily involved in the EO movement.
